The Thunderbirds offense racked up 473 total yards of offense, 330 of those yards were rushing. The offense was explosive all day running the ball and throwing it as well. Joe Pellegrino led the great rushing attack with 178 yards rushing and two long touchdown runs, an 80-yard run and a 66-yard run for scores. His first one started the scoring. His last one ended the scoring. On the season, Pellegrino has 487 yards rushing on 44 carries, an 11.1 average, and five touchdowns. Other players who played great were Ryan Andersen who completed 8 of 10 passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Andersen made some terrific throws all day. Jon Sternbach had another phenomenal game with 6 receptions for 92 yards and two touchdown catches. On the year, Sternbach now has 20 receptions and five total touchdowns. Joe Zuco had another excellent game rushing the ball for 80 yards on 8 attempts and two touchdowns, one of which was a beautiful 25-yard run, which had a few of the "Zuco Jukes" in it. On the season, Zuco has 482 yards rushing on 68 attempts, a 7.1 average, and six touchdowns. Lastly, the entire offensive line of Kevin McHale, John Smith, Ryan Lanigan, Mike Compitello, DJ Pamlanye, Andrew Grogan, Alex Lorenzo, and FB Dylan Clifford continue to perform extremely well.

Defensively the Thunderbirds have been a very strong unit. They have done an outstanding job in all games and Saturday was no different. Ward Melville, a great passing team, only completed four passes and the T-Birds defense forced six turnovers, five fumble recoveries and one interception. The fumbles were recovered by Gregg Sarra, two, Dylan Clifford, Alex Lorenzo, and Ryan Lanigan. Lorenzo led the way with his best defensive performance of the season. Lorenzo had 8 tackles, 3 for losses, a fumble recovery, and 1/2 quarterback sack. Lorenzo is second on the team with 42 tackles and is tied as the team leader with 3 quarterback sacks. Jon Sternbach had a great game making 9 tackles, 1 for a loss, and provided some fantastic coverage. Lanigan played well making 6 tackles, 1 for a loss, and recovered 1 fumble. Mike Pellegrino had another strong game making 3 tackles, breaking up 2 passes, and had an interception. Lastly, Tommy McInerney had an excellent game making 5 tackles, 4 solo, and 2 for losses.

It was another outstanding performance by the special teams. Cody Elsis was a stud, making four special team tackles on kick and punt coverage. Elsis, the holder on PAT's and FG's, continues to make great holds for the kicker Justin Bertone. Bertone had another awesome day, making 5/6 extra points and providing some excellent kickoffs. Once again, Sternbach, who is all over the field, provided a lot more excitement, running the opening kickoff of the second half back 75 yards to set up the fifth touchdown, giving the T-Birds a 35-0 lead.

It was a phenomenal win and an all-around team effort by the T-Birds. The team improved to 5-1 and becomes the first Connetquot football team since 1995 to win 5 games. Awesome job, brothers!
