Congratulations to Senior RB/LB James Tripodi for being named All-Long Island Second Team for his unbelievable play for the T-Birds this past season. The All-Long Island Team is selected by Newsday and it is an extremely difficult team to make. There are 58 members on the team from Suffolk, Nassau, and the Catholic schools. James got picked for his stellar play at Linebacker for the T-Birds in which he had 78 tackles, led the team with 6 Quarterback Sacks, and had 12 tackles for losses, which also led the team. He was one of 28 players from Long Island chosen for the Defense.

Tripodi, a three-year Varsity starter, has been an awesome player for the T-Birds in his three seasons. As a sophomore, he started as an Inside Linebacker, and was third on the team with 62 tackles. During this season he led the team with 5 quarterback sacks and was second with 9 tackles for losses. As a junior, he was the team-leader with 80 tackles, 16 tackles for losses, and 417 rushing yards. He was named First-Team All-Division, just barely missing out on All-County. This past season, Tripodi would not be denied All-County. He was named a Captain and was second on the team with 78 tackles, led the team with 6 quarterback sacks and 12 tackles for losses. He, also, led the team with 363 rushing yards and was named an All-County player. For his career, Tripodi started all 25 games he played in, never missing a game, and finished with 220 tackles, 37 tackles for losses, 14 quarterback sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 780 rushing yards on 169 carries, a 4.6 average, and a total of 6 touchdowns. Each year, Tripodi displayed terrific improvement as a player and matured into an excellent leader.

Congratulations to James Tripodi for being selected to the All-Long Island team, 2nd Team. We look forward to seeing him play in College. All the best!
