Congratulations to Vinny Danseglio for receiving the NFF Scholar-Athlete Award

Posted Sunday, December 16, 2007 by Michael Konsevitch
Senior Offensive/Defensive Lineman Vinny Danseglio received the National Football Foundation's Scholar-Athlete Award for the Thunderbirds. This award is given to one senior from every football team in Suffolk and Nassau County who has maintained a high GPA in school and is a starter for his football team.

Danseglio has always been an outstanding student and continues to achieve great things academically at Connetquot High School. He maintains a terrific GPA and takes many challenging classes. As a football player he was a real asset to the T-Birds this season. He started every game at offensive tackle and was one of the most consistent offensive lineman doing a super job at all times. He was very good paving the way for some nice runs and provided solid pass protection for Ryan Anderson and Stan Hartnett. Defensively, he started every game at Defensive End and was a force making many great plays. He finished the season with 46 tackles, 4 for a loss and was named All-Division First Team for his outstanding play.

Vinny is, also, a great goalie on the Varsity Lacrosse team and is looking to play lacrosse and, perhaps, football in college. He is an excellent football player, an excellent student, and an awesome person. He always gives 110% in the classroom and on the field, is very respectful, and has an unbelievable attitude. We wish him the best and will miss him tremendously!
