Stan Hartnett had an outstanding game for the T-Birds in his last game as a T-Bird. He led the T-Birds on 5 touchdown drives in a 32-13 victory over Commack. He completed 5 of 6 passes for 80 yards, including an 11-yard scoring pass to Steve Cluen. He, also, ran the ball for 48 yards, including a 2-yard touchdown run. Defensively, Stan provided a solid corner making 4 tackles, all solo, had 1 tackle for loss and played great coverage.
Jeremy Leggiero was a defensive-force helping the T-Birds limit Commack to only two scores. Leggiero was a tackling-machine, leading the team with 17 tackles, 11 solo, and 4 for losses. Leggiero finished as the team-leader in tackles with 87.
Joe Pellegrino opened the scoring for the T-Birds with a terrific 35-yard touchdown run to give the T-Birds a 6-0 lead. On the day, Pellegrino had 4 carries for 45 yards and 1 TD and played well on defense. He finished with 2 tackles, broke up 2 passes, and had some good coverage throughout the day.
Jonathan Sternbach added another outstanding play to his excellent season scoring on a 55-yard reverse to give the T-Birds a 25-13 lead in the 4th quarter. Sternbach finished the day with 4 receptions for 69 yards to go along with the exciting run. On defense he had 5 tackles.
Chris Dale had a great game running the football. He led the team with 81 yards rushing on 17 carries. He ran well following his blockers and put some nice moves on the defenders from Commack.
Enough can not be said about the outstanding job the offensive line did providing great protection and paving the way for the T-Birds to run for 285 yards and gain 365 total yards of offense. Vinny Danseglio, Chris Shea, John Smith, Brian Taylor, Sam Thornton, Steve Cluen, and Andrew Grogan did a fantastic job!
