Jonathan Sternbach set a school-record and tied a Long Island record with a 99-yard pass reception from Stan Hartnett for a touchdown. 99 yards is the longest running or passing play you can have from scrimmage. Sternbach outraced his chasers for the remaining 85 yards on the play and finished the day with 4 receptions for 124 yards against an outstanding Floyd defense. He also added 6 tackles from his safety position.
James Tripodi had another fantastic game from his linebacker position. He finished the game with 13 tackles, 2 Quarterback sacks, and 3 tackles for losses.
Doug Smiroldo led the team with 15 tackles, 11 solo, and 1 tackle for a loss.
Vinny Danseglio continued his stellar season on the offensive line and continues to get better with each week. Defensively, he provided another strong game with 7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss.
Great job by these four players in competing with an excellent William Floyd team who have won 29 straight games and the last two Long Island Championships.
