Stan Hartnett, Chris Dale, and Steve Cluen are named Players of the Week

Posted Sunday, September 30, 2007 by Michael Konsevitch
Stan Hartnett had an unbelievable game. Returning for the first time in over a year, Stan played exceptionally well on defense. He played a terrific corner and broke up 5 passes on Bay Shore's last three drives. These 5 pass break-up's helped keep Bay Shore from scoring. Stan also had a 44-yard return on the opening kickoff of the second half to spark an 18 play drive that led to a touchdown and a 14-0 lead. In all, Stan had 76 return yards.

Stan has worked extremely hard from major knee surgery from last season and seeing him play is a testament that hard work, believing in yourself, and having faith can make many things happen. Phenomenal job, Stan!

Chris Dale had an outstanding game carrying the ball 18 times for 76 yards and a touchdown against a very tough Bay Shore defense. Chris has really played exceptionally well this year and continues to be a solid contributor to the T-Birds. He continues to improve as a running back and cornerback and has provided the T-Birds with another option on offense.

Steve Cluen had a great game. Offensively, he provided some great blocking from the Tight End position. Defensively, he was stellar on the outside making 8 tackles, 6 solo, and 1 for a loss. His great play made it difficult for Bay Shore to score points.

Other players who had great games were Doug Smiroldo, Jonathan Sternbach, James Tripodi, Jeremy Leggiero, Tom Coffey, Chris Shea, and James Campbell. It was a terrific defensive effort and there were a great deal of players deserving of the Player of the Week award. Everybody should be proud of their performance. T-Birds, keep up the excellent work. We have a big game this week!
